Who’s listening to you?

Effective marketing means knowing your target audience.  Really knowing them—not just guessing.  You have many sources of information to build your audience profile: personal interviews with clients, customer information, service feedback, industry research and customer testimonials.  Remember: you can’t hit a target that you can’t see.

Tip #6:  Identify your main target audience in specific detail.  Think about their age, gender, education, income level, company title and role, responsibilities, the ways they use your product/service, the conditions and locations where they use your product—anything and everything you can put on paper about your target audience. 

Here’s a crucial question:  Is your target audience the end user, the buyer, the gatekeeper, the influencer or the decision maker?  They’re not always one and the same.
