Understand all the target audiences

By marketingturnaround

Most companies have multiple target audiences, even if they don’t realize it.  The end user of the product or service is only one audience—perhaps not even the person who actually searches out options or makes the buying decision.  On the way to turning your marketing around in 30 days, it’s important to really look at your target audiences.

That’s why it’s important to understand all the target audiences involved in the purchase process.  Think through your sales cycle.  Who is the initial contact?  Who handles the buying process after that?  Who else is involved?  Who signs the check?  Who approves the purchase?  Who actually uses the product and at what point do they enter the picture?

Tip #7:  Identify all your target audiences.  Put them in priority order.  Be specific.  Think about long-term relationship value as well as short-term sales.

Ultimately, successful marketing is about creating relationships through your choice of words, pictures and media vehicles.  Since your different target markets will respond differently to each of those elements, it’s essential to understand who they are and what they need.
